Recently, the Cornwall Local published an article regarding a new store opening on Main Street. As the article was the main article on the Front page of the paper, the pastor responded with a brief letter to the editor. That letter is included on this page explaining the position of the church in regards to Witchcraft.

Religion is not sold!

The article on August 17, 2007, Brid's Closet Opens on Main presents witchcraft as an innocent form of faith. This is of major concern, as God explicitly declares His loathing for witchcraft. Saul's visit to the witch of Endor brought about his premature death. Satanism is the worship of a fallen angel who has been defeated by the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and who will suffer eternal punishment in the lake of fire and brimstone. Currently, he has very real powers, and is attempting to thwart the Sovereign plan of God. He will fail and stand condemned and be placed in eternal judgement. In addition, the owner expressed her desire to service all spiritualities. This is an impossible task, for there is only one God, and only one way to worship Him. We are to worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:24), and truth must remain undefiled from error. God explicitly declares I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images (Isaiah 42:8), and further Is there a God beside me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any (Isaiah 44:8). It is an impossible task to service all spiritualities, when God has declared that there are none to be reconciled. As a reminder, Cornwall Baptist Church exists to declare the Lord Jesus Christ crucified, risen, and coming again, and to call all men to salvation through faith in His name. God declares that Jesus is the only name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We meet four times a week, not to service a spirituality, but to worship the True and Living God.
